We take a half-day morning tour to explore Ho Chi Minh City (formerly known as Saigon), the most bustle and hustle city of Viet Nam. We visit the Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office and Reunification Palace. Followed by a stop at the remarkable War Remnants Museum. Break time for lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, we head North-west of Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi Tunnels – a popular spot for both Vietnamese & foreign tourists. The underground network of over 200km of tunnels became legendary when they played a vital role in the War. In their heyday, the tunnels were functioning underground cities included innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapon factories, field hospitals, command centers & kitchen.
There’s plenty of evidence of the fierce battle that took place here during the 1960’s when Cu Chi was a “Free Target Zone“. We start our tour by watching a short introductory video showing how the tunnels were constructed and how people living under this tunnels during the wars. You will spend the next hour exploring the tunnels. Afterwards, enjoy tea, cassava (guerrilla’s food during the war). Lastly we will return to Sai Gon.
